Redefine Your Style with Professionals
It’s not a wig — it’s a full cranial prosthesis
If you are experiencing medically related hair loss, AR Cranial Prosthesis is here to help.
AR Cranial Prosthesis is a participating Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider of Full Cranial Prosthetics for individuals dealing with medically induced hair loss.
We offer a line of cranial prostheses that may be covered through your medical insurance. What is a prosthetic? It’s a medical device (external or implanted) designed to replace or support a missing or deficient body part, including hair!
Benefits of a Cranial Prosthetic
- Covered by many insurance providers
- Natural-looking hairline — indistinguishable from natural hair
- Longevity: lasts up to 2 years or more with proper care
- Includes 4–6 week hair system maintenance for select units
(Scalp scrub, shampoo/condition, and reapplication) - Breathable and ventilated design
- Can be dyed, shampooed/conditioned, straightened/curled — even swimming is allowed
- Comfortable fit around the ears (memory foam included in select models)
- Perfect-fit mold creation included (for select units)
- Non-allergenic and irritation-free
- No slippage — stays securely in place
Cranial Prosthetics vs. Standard Wigs
Social media has redefined the hair industry. While many stylists — licensed and unlicensed — are creating “custom wigs,” it’s important to ask: Is that wig truly designed to support your medical hair loss needs?
Clients with alopecia or other forms of medical hair loss often require specialized solutions. Traditional adhesives like glue or tape may irritate the scalp or worsen conditions. Additionally, some materials commonly used in wigs can cause overheating or sensitivity.
At AR Cranial Prosthesis, our Resident Hair Replacement Specialist is certified and professionally trained in non-surgical hair replacement for both men and women, with advanced education in medical hair loss solutions.
Custom Cap Constructions
We use industry-standard, fully customized cap designs for each prosthesis. Popular options include:
- Lace Fronts for a natural-looking hairline
- Polyurethane (PU) throughout for security and full coverage
- Monofilament (Mono) caps for enhanced ventilation
- Hybrid Designs combining lace, PU, and Mono to match your needs
Our prostheses are built to mimic natural hair growth while prioritizing comfort, appearance, and scalp health. If you receive scalp injections or need to apply topical treatments, we recommend units with “Integration Chains” — widely approved by physicians.
When completing your inquiry form, please include your medical needs or preferences so we can help determine the best type of hair system for you.
